Warriors post extended footage of Klay and team scrimmaging

As most everyone probably heard by now, Thursday’s game between the Warriors and Nuggets was postponed to a later date as Denver couldn’t come up with the minimum required eight available players due to multiple members of the ball club in health and safety protocols.

In lieu of the game, Steve Kerr decided to take extra time while his team was in Denver to hold a practice. It was during that practice where we learned that Klay Thompson, who has been out of action for 900+ days due to two major injuries, had scrimmaged with the Golden State starters for the first time in over two years.

We got a few small glimpses of Klay in the scrimmage yesterday via the Warriors official social media accounts but on Friday afternoon, the account posted an extended clip which included more Klay highlights that we have all been salivating over the moment it dropped on twitter.

The notable parts from the clip feature Klay cutting to the rim and finishing with his left hand, a few quick catch-and-shoot jumpers, a strong baseline drive from Thompson who dished the ball to Kuminga who hammered it down, and finally, the clip ended with a pan of Klay clapping it up while noticeably breathing fairly heavy.

It’s the conditioning that is the only factor left in getting Klay back into an NBA game at this point. So to see Klay playing Five’s with the team and running with the starters is a very exciting visual as it shows that we are only days away from hearing Klay called as part of the starting line-ups at Chase Center.

Take a look at the clip for your self.
