Latest Update on Curry’s Ankle Hints of a Soon Approaching Return
Warriors guard Stephen Curry was evaluated by the teams medical staff today and was said to be making consistent progress in his recovery much like what was reported after his previous evaluation a week ago. A key difference however from last weeks examination is that Curry will now be cleared to participate in modified team practices beginning on Saturday. The Warriors finished their press release on the matter stating that Curry will be re-evaluated again next week.
Where things get a little bit interesting is that Steph’s re-evaluation date is set for April 27th and the earliest date that the Western Conference semifinals could begin is April 28th. It definitely seems that the two dates didn’t sync up the way they did on accident meaning there is a chance Curry could be ready to go for game 1 of the second round of the playoffs. Of course all of this is just speculation at this point.
With a 3-0 series lead against the Spurs the Warriors look like they might be matching up with a scorching hot Pelicans team who is currently leading their first round series against the favored Blazers 3-0 as well. It would most certainly be nice for the Warriors to have Steph back for the beginning of that series taking into consideration that New Orleans seems to be peaking at just the right time.
Anytime you’re facing an Anthony Davis led team you’ll want to have all of your players healthy, especially if one of those players is Steph Curry.
