Stephen Curry Inks Multi-Year Production Deal with Sony, Starts Unanimous Media

The former back-to-back MVP and 2-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry has inked a deal with Sony which spans across TV, movies, gaming and potentially virtual-reality projects.

Steph’s newly formed Unanimous Media company was founded by Curry along with partners Jeron Smith, who will serve as the company’s CEO, and Erick Peyton, who will serve as the CCO.   The newly formed media company will be opening it’s offices on it’s studio lot in Culver City, California.  Unanimous Media will focus on sports, faith and family-friendly content.

We’re thrilled to work alongside Steph to bring his positive, affirming brand to create content in the scripted and non-scripted television landscape,” Chris Parnell, co-president of Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement.

There was no information given on what the deal was worth however Sony said that the multi-year deal was the biggest media deal ever for an athlete.

I’ve been blessed to have this platform and I want to use it to affect the world positively,” Curry said. “Partnering with Sony to share inspiring content with a global audience was a foregone conclusion.

Last June Curry signed the richest contract in NBA history with the Golden State Warriors that’s worth $201 million over 5-years.  He also has an endorsement deal with Under Armour, a sports and apparel company, through 2024 which roughly pays $4 million a year but that’s not where the endorsement deals stop.  Curry also has deals with Degree, JP Morgan Chase and Infinity just to name a few.

The Golden State Warriors’ point guard said that with this Sony deal now finalized he hopes to “affect the world positively” and “share inspiring content.”.
