Boston Restaurant Continues to Taunt Steph, Much to the Celtics’ Dismay

As sports fans we have all heard the phrase, they just added more fuel to the fire regarding how bad a player wants to win. In the NBA we have seen it with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as they would make up reasons to get angry and play more physically. In Steph’s case many fans dislike him and have figured out that just trash talking his game won’t get in his head. Now they have resorted to calling out his wife’s cooking.

This was the scene outside of a Boston restaurant, doing everything they could to try to get into Steph’s head. And it didn’t seem to help as Curry lead the Warriors to a Game 4 victory dropping 42 points in the process. Then in Game 5 Curry would struggle only tallying 16 points but his leadership and gravity on offense allowed the Dubs to take a 3-2 series lead.

Following Game 5’s win Steph had a message to the Boston fans; Ayesha Curry CAN cook.

Of course, Boston didn’t like that and the restaurant owner changed the sign, backing what he said and some fans even spotted shirts that were being displayed saying the same thing.

Steph isn’t taking it too personally though as the sign and his shirt were brought up again during Wednesday morning’s media day. He said, “I’m the petty king so I know all about everything... I use it as entertainment and just have fun with it.”

He made good points when answering the question, looking back on the start of their finals run in 2015 and how it might have affected him then but not now. He has established himself as one of the game’s greatest players and with greatness comes criticism. Warriors' fans might recall back in the 2018 Western Conference Finals when the Rockets’ fans made fun of Ayesha Curry’s newly open restaurant and left bad reviews. It only ended poorly for the Rockets as Curry torched them for 27 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds in a closeout Game 7 victory.

The back and forth might prove to be useless if Curry comes out and wins a championship in TD Garden. But until the Warriors hoist the Larry O’Brian trophy the banter will be as heated as ever. And Steph will continue to use it as motivation or entertainment which is never a good sign for the opposing team.
