Warriors Teammates React to Klay's Official Return
With Klay Thompson officially announcing his own return from injury tomorrow, the internet has put together some phenomenal reactions. Warriors fans, basketball fans, and even some of Thompson’s Warriors teammates have chimed in and expressed their excitement over social media.
It’s awesome to see the chemistry is all well and good even if Klay hasn’t been on the floor with his running mates for the last 2 seasons. Despite not being able to share the court, his teammates have always been supportive through his recovery process. When he was on the court, specifically Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Curry and Green took to both Twitter to show their support for Klay’s imminent return tomorrow at the Chase Center:
Curry and Green, two members of the original core alongside Andre Iguodala that turned the Warriors into a championship franchise, will finally get to suit up with their career-long teammate against the Cavs. There’s been little word on what Klay’s minutes will look like or what he’ll be doing on-court, but it’s clear from practices that his conditioning has been ready to go.
Curry should be able to get out of his slump with Klay’s return as well, as he’ll see more floor-spacing from his Splash Brother. Teams won’t be able to throw two guys at Curry when there’s definitively somebody else on the floor who can punish them for it. Draymond Green should see some benefit as well, as he’ll have more passing options and another defender to add to the Warriors’ already-stacked defense.
The Warriors will, of course, be better for Thompson’s return. You can tell there’s an excellent atmosphere in the locker room based on Curry and Green’s additions to social media, and with the team already owning the 2nd-best record in the NBA (although that could change tomorrow with a Suns loss tonight), Golden State figures to be in high spirits as they get their second-best scorer and an important wing defender back for the first time in two seasons.
