Klay dazzled with a pair of behind-the-back passes in win over Mavs
Tuesday night at Chase center, the Dubs returned to action hosting the Dallas Mavericks in a nationally televised marquee matchup.
The Warriors dominated from the opening tip, outscoring the Mavs by 26 in the second half alone. A truly complete and remarkable effort from the Dubs. While this game was filled with highlight-reel moments, two specific highlights stood out. Klay had. not one, but TWO behind-the-back passes to Johnathan Kuminga. JK was asked about Klay’s passes following the game:
"Me growing up watching Klay play, I had never really seen him pass the ball the way he did today."
Kuminga clearly watched plenty of Klay Thompson growing up because, quite frankly, I haven’t seen Klay passing like that before either.
Both of Klay’s fancy passes led to scoring opportunities, and luckily for him, Kuminga was able to cash in on both.
After the game, Klay uploaded both passes to his Instagram story as he was clearly proud of both dimes.
By now, we all know Thompson has not been known for his passing ability throughout his career. Instead, his ability to catch and shoot. But seeing Klay share the ball with the rookie while also making it look easy is an excellent sign for Dubnation. Hopefully, we can continue to see this relationship blossom as Klay becomes more accustomed to playing with Kuminga and the rest of the roster.
