Draymond Green marvels at Steph Curry's ankle-breakers just like the rest of us
We’ve all had plenty of moments where we sat and stared into a screen in bewilderment as we watched the live, artistic expression that is Stephen Curry doing work on a basketball court.
Golden State Warriors forward and three-time NBA champion, Draymond Green, is no different from us in that sense. The former Defensive Player of the Year award recipient re-shared an Instagram post featuring Curry viciously sending opponents to the floor with his savvy skills, to his story on Monday evening, with the caption, “WELL DAMN! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 — ANKLE BULLY @STEPHENCURRY30”
The highlight reel shows Curry nearly sending Tristan Thompson to the floor with a jab-step, causing Thompson to lose his balance and place his hand on the floor to catch his balance (Yup, he made him touch earth), before drilling a triple over the stunned defender. The second part of the clip shows the Baby-Faced Assassin hit his defender, Justin Jackson, with yet another quick, vicious, jab-step, which causes Jackson’s ankle to completely bend into an L-shape before the helpless defender tumbles over to the floor. Curry then takes a regroup dribble, and of course knocks down a three, adding insult to injury.
The duo of Curry and Green are certainly up there for one of the best in the history of the game. There are many examples that will point to this but one that sticks out in particular is the insane on-court impact the two had together during their 2015-16 campaign.
Floor impact aside, Green and Curry have always had a great understanding of their roles and have always managed to get the most out of playing together, and at times even seem to know what the other player is thinking or where they will be on the floor before a play even develops.
It will be fun to see what these two will be able to accomplish on the court this season. We won’t have to wait long as we are only 20 days out from the Warriors’ first preseason game.
