Wiseman to advance rehab in the coming week

The Warriors’ second overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft, James Wiseman, will not travel with the team on the upcoming two-game road trip but is reportedly on track to continue to advance rehab of his surgically operated knee, per a tweet from the Athletic’s Anthony Slater.

“Sounds like James Wiseman is on track to advance to more contact work when Warriors return from upcoming two-game road trip. Warriors discussed possibility of bringing Wiseman on trip to get that kind’ve work, but opting against because of COVID situation.”

Dubnation can rejoice, Wiseman has been out for over 8 months and any news regarding the second-year player's impending return is good news. The Dubs have felt the absence of Wiseman, relying heavily on Looney and Draymond to pick up extra minutes to help fill the void at the center position.

The Warriors have proven that they are poised for another deep playoff run. With Klay on the precipice of return, It seems likely that both Klay and Wiseman will be eased into the fold roughly around the same time, with Klay possibly returning just a little bit sooner. Naturally, both Klay and Wiseman should be afforded a grace period where they can slowly acclimate back to full-time NBA life and the rigors of playing multiple games per week.

Regardless, January and February should be a very exciting time for not only Warriors fans, but for fans around the entire NBA.
