All the Former Warriors Listed on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team

The Golden State Warriors are a storied franchise with a lot of fantastic players. With the NBA creating an all-time team consisting of 75 players for this year’s anniversary of the league, some Dubs deserve some recognition for their past achievements. Here are the 9 members of this team that have represented the blue and yellow during their basketball career.

Stephen Curry (2009 - present): Are you as shocked as I am (which is not at all)? “The Baby-Faced Assassin” is the definition of what it means to be a true Warrior.

Rick Barry (1965-1967, 1972-1978): He brought the first championship to the Bay and is a legend for his underhanded free throw form.

Kevin Durant (2016-2019): Love him or hate him, KD is an inspiration for current basketball fans and players all across the world. A different breed with his wide spread skill-set at his incredible size and length.

Paul Arizin (1950-1952, 1954-1962): A member of the Philadelphia Warriors, he won an NBA championship all the way back in 1956.

Achievements - 1x NBA champion, 10x NBA All-Star, 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP, 2x NBA scoring champion

Dave Cowens (2000-2001): Although his time in Oakland was short, the former head coach of the Golden State Warriors deserves some love for his accomplishments as a player with the Boston Celtics.

Achievements - 2x NBA champion, 1x NBA MVP, 8x NBA All-Star Game MVP, NBA Rookie of the Year

Jerry Lucas (1969-1971): The best of Jerry’s playing days occurred with the Cincinnati Royals from 1963-1969. His final NBA-All Star Game appearance occurred in 1971 with the San Francisco Warriors. Lucas would then go on to win an NBA championship with the New York Knicks in 1973 towards the end of his career.

Achievements - 1x NBA champion, 7x NBA All-Star, 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP, NBA Rookie of the Year

Bill Sharman (1966-1968): Serving as the head coach for the San Francisco Warriors for only two seasons but in Bill’s heyday, he partnered alongside Bob Cousy with the Boston Celtics in what was then considered to be the greatest backcourt duo of all time.

Achievements - 4x NBA champion, 8x NBA All-Star, 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP

There were some Golden State “snubs” from the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team. No Chris Mullin, no Klay Thompson, and no Draymond Green.

Klay, in particular, felt some way about his absence from the list as he took to social media to express his feelings. “Maybe I’m just naive in my ability to play basketball, but in my head I’m TOP 75 all time.”
