Steph Curry is Nearing a Deal with Under Armour Worth Over $1 Billion

The list of Steph Curry accomplishments this year are far from few, as the greatest shooter of all time secured three MVP awards, the all-time three pointers made records, and a championship to name a few. But now he is eyeing an accomplishment off the court that few athletes have yet to achieve, signing an endorsement worth over $1B.

That goal can become real as Matt Sullivan of Rolling Stone reported that Curry and Under Armour have “nearly locked” down the details of a lifetime endorsement worth over $1B.

Rightfully so, Curry has been the face of Under Armour in the basketball world for the past seven years. He joined the brand in 2013 and signed a deal worth close to 4 million a year. That number has obviously increased since then, and his contract is slated to end sometime in 2024. Curry has been one of Under Armour’s best investments as kids and adults alike idolize him and want to play like him.

Just recently Curry launched his “Curry Brand” in collaboration with Under Armour and even got his own new logo.

The new clothing brand, along with his own signature shoe showed players around the NBA that you don’t always have to sign with a big-name brand like Nike or Jordan to be successful. His shoe in particular is on its ninth iteration and has been popular among younger hoopers looking for a comfortable shoe to play in. It wouldn’t be surprising if the tenth version pays some sort of homage to Curry and his upbringing with the company and his rise to stardom in the NBA.

Steph has been underrated his whole life but now he is officially getting the recognition that he deserves on and off the court. If he can ink down this deal, then it takes him one step closer to reaching a level that not many athletes have been able to accomplish. Depending on the numbers surrounding the deal, he would hypothetically be able to climb the charts and surpass Lebron in money made from their endorsement. Curry is currently around 42 million per year, right behind Lebron who is around 54 million per year.

With his earnings Steph has been able to give back to the community as he started the Eat. Learn. Play foundation alongside his wife Ayesha. The foundation focuses on childhood hunger and has delivered more than 25 million meals since they opened it in 2019. He also launched the Underrated Tour in that same year to help showcase the talents of players ranked with three stars or lower.

So overall the two-time MVP has made his fair share of money from endorsements and used a good portion of it to make a positive impact on the community. Now he will be able to do more and keep his partnership with Under Armour alive and well in the future if this endorsement deal is finalized.
