Steph Finishes 16th in ACC Golf Tournament

It wasn’t quite the weekend for another championship trophy-hoisting, but Steph Curry proved once again that his golf game is doing just fine despite his devotion to the game of basketball. Curry finished tied for 16th - ahead of father Dell (18th) and brother Seth (67th) - in this year’s American Century Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament, which was won by former NFL quarterback and current NFL commentator Tony Romo.

While many of Steph’s highlights took place between holes or just hanging around at the event, he did have some pretty good shots, one of which was an eagle from the fairway.

Seems like Steph’s range is unlimited even on the links. He also brought out a new celebration after nailing a putt from a few feet away from the cup:

Maybe we’ll see this one after another classic Curry Flurry on the court next season. Although he played pretty well, many of his highlights were off the greens as well. Everything from shooting hoops (which has been a regular activity for him in the past ACC tournaments) to punting footballs, even to clowning Charles Barkley’s golf game.

As always, the vibes were great in Lake Tahoe for the tournament this past weekend. And while Steph may have not finished as high on the leaderboard as he has in the past, at least he has the bragging rights at family gatherings until next year’s. The good news, as always, is that there’s a reason Steph Curry is a pro hooper and not golfer.

Regardless, i’s good to see Steph getting to enjoy another victory lap before the regular season begins once again. While the Warriors haven’t enjoyed the Summer League success everyone thought they might off the bat, there are plenty of signs that the young guns (Kuminga, Moody, and Wiseman have all shown signs of playing well) and some other surprise contributors (notably Lester Quinones and Quinndary Weatherspoon) will be ready to help run it back next season.
