After five years co-hosting ESPN’s hit debate show, First Take, on Wednesday Max Kellerman said his final goodbye.

ESPN hinted at moving in another direction with the show in August, and it was no secret that Kellerman’s hosting partner, Steven A. Smith, was also ready for another co-host. Stephen A. Smith has wanted Kellerman off the show for years, as Kellerman had a “smartest guy in the room” persona, Smith was looking for more of a “debating challenger”, per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post. Smith got his way, although he said there were no hard feelings and even wished Max the best on his final show with a heartfelt message.

One of Kellerman’s more famous moments on First Take was when the hosts were offered up the question of who they would want to take a shot with the game on the line. Either the greatest shooter in the world, Stephen Curry, or Andre Iguodala. Kellerman’s turn arrived and his answer was hilarious.

“Of everyone on Golden State, open shot, fate of the universe on the line, the Martians have the death beam pointed at Earth, you better hit it… I want Iguodala,”

The clip made its round across the world wide web and still does, even to this day.

Well, following Kellerman’s last day on First Take, old reliable, Andre Iguodala gave Kellerman a farewell and wished him well in his future endeavors.

“Max, what’s up? It’s your boy here, man,” said the former Finals MVP. “Congratulations on five great years. To many more great years in your next endeavors. From one of your favorite fans. Appreciate you supporting me, knowing who should take the last shot when the earth is on the line. So congrats, and here’s to the future.”

Kellerman posted the clip to his Instagram account with the caption: “I want Iguodala!”

Cheers to Max wherever he ends up taking his career. He was good at what he does, and what he does is entertain with his sometimes wild takes. I’m sure he will have his own show soon enough, and who knows, maybe his first guest will be none other than Mr. Clutch, Andre Iguodala.
