Kendrick Perkins alludes to wanting to box Draymond Green and put "paws" on him
It’s not a shocker that former NBA center, Kendrick Perkins, has yet again brought Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green’s name up recently. Perkins doesn’t seem to pull any punches, so to speak, when it comes to his incessant Green chatter. This particular instance was no different.
Perkins, who holds career averages of 5.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1 assist per game, was recently on Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye and Allie Clifton’s Road Trippin' Podcast. The crew was chatting about the Draymond Green/Kevin Durant “Chips” podcast that aired a few weeks prior. Jefferson brought up a few examples of how in the past players would settle their differences by putting their fists up. He alluded to Green and Durant choosing not to resolve their issues in that fashion, instead, letting the situation linger and eventually blaming it on the Golden State front office. Perkins chimed in and began speaking about a player that he, personally, wouldn't mind duking it out with.
“He’s not even my former teammate, but he feel like that I talk s—, and I feel like he talk s— is Draymond Green,” said Perkins. “Like if I had to get in the ring and really put these paws on somebody, it would be Draymond Green. But I really think he don’t want that smoke, and history tells me he really don’t want that smoke.”
Unquestionably odd behavior, but that’s par for the course with Big Perk.
I’m no oddsmaker but if I had to take a guess at what the opening odds would be set at for a Green/Perkins boxing match, I would have to say Green would be a three-to-one favorite, easily. I mean, even Green’s teammate, Stephen Curry exchanged some words with Perk at one point. Of course, Perkins wasn’t even playing in the game at the time the exchange occurred.
When asked about that altercation, Curry responded with an answer that can also perfectly be said about these recent comments from Perkins involving Green, "much ado about nothing".
