Tough go for Jordan Bell as he suffers another ankle injury in win vs. Brooklyn

With 13.7 seconds left in the third quarter Warriors rookie Jordan Bell took flight in pursuit of a block on Brooklyn Nets’ Forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.  He was successful on his blocked shot attempt however he landed awkwardly and his right ankle inverted quickly causing what the Warriors are categorizing as a “mild ankle sprain” after X-rays came back negative.

Bell was only 4 games back from a 14 game layoff due to his previous ankle sprain which was on his opposite leg.  Bell expressed in the post game media scrum that he was very frustrated with the situation as he has had a great track record with staying away from injuries through out his entire basketball career minus a broken foot.

The Warriors currently have Bell listed as day-to-day and there is no timetable yet on Bell’s return to play.  He did adamantly say that he doesn’t expect that he will miss anywhere near as many games as he did following his left ankle sprain injury.  However with Javale McGee seemingly being on top of his game and Zaza Pachulia healthy, I doubt the Warriors will be in any hurry to rush the rookie back into the lineup.  The Warriors will likely take the same approach as they have with any other injury that has taken place this year, patiently while taking extra precaution.  No need to hurry anyone back at this point in the season.
