Steph Curry Had An Epic Surprise 30th Birthday Party

You will never see a team as good as the Golden State Warriors be as relaxed and confident as they are.  Don’t believe me?  Then I urge you to read on and see how the Warriors rang in Steph Curry’s 30th birthday party in San Francisco on Monday night.

The night started with Steph and Ayesha Curry pulling up to a San Francisco pier on a huge yacht to a dock filled with family, friends and those closest to the former back to back MVP of the NBA.  As the yacht reached closer to the dock a dumbfounded Steph was greeted with a huge “SURPRISE” along with cheers and whistles from the invited guests awaiting his arrival.

From there the night went on and included everything from special musical performances from Paramore and E-40, to dancing, dancing on stage, dancing while eating food, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green dancing with Steph’s grandma (no really) and more!  There was even a special guest appearance from China Klay himself as he hit the dance floor with his signature moves that made him a global sensation over the summer.

We also got to see Coaches Steve Kerr and Mike Brown hit the stage and let me be the first to say that Steve Kerr’s back issues seemed to be completely resolved judging by the amount of highly awkward and uncoordinated movement that was coming out of his body.  Oh, and i’m not exactly sure if Mike Brown was attempting to twerk here or if this was some sort of dance move but we’ll just say he was twerking on stage to make the story sound even better!

There were a few basketball related takeaways that I noticed while Steph’s 30th birthday celebration unfolded as well.  The first is that I can bet my life that there is no team currently in the NBA that has the level of team chemistry that the Warriors carry.  This is apparent not only in watching the squad dancing to old school New Edition and Luther Vandross perfectly in sync and all on the fly, but it is also obvious that they are truly a team in every sense of the word because of the genuine fun and laughter that they were able to provide one another through out the night.  But this is nothing new.  This was going on since the beginning of the Steph, Klay and Draymond era.  The team culture was then quickly adopted by Andre Iguodala, and then Kevin Durant.  You get a sense that it’s sort of infection.  When you are around these guys you slowly pick up on the good vibes and you’re able to let loose, be yourself and relax.  More than anything these players all share a brotherhood among each other that is a rarity in today’s ego driven NBA and that is exactly the X-Factor that separates the Warriors from other “elite” teams around the league.

The second basketball takeaway that I had from Steph’s party last night was that his ankle is certainly looking pretty good!  From his lateral hops while dancing to E-40’s “Tell Me When To Go” track to his other various dance moves through out the night one could assume that he should be ready to go against the Lakers on Wednesday night.  See below for yourself.

The Warriors announced that the team has canceled practice today.  One could take a wild guess and say that will use this day to load up and electrolytes and maybe use it as an active recovery day following the events of last night.  Sure sounds like they’re frightened of the Houston Rockets or any other teams they might be facing in the playoffs doesn’t it?!
